2016年，中国重型音乐的大事件，是元老级金属乐队战斧即将发表全新唱片，并于9月9日启动新专辑《深海》全国巡演，以凌厉炽烈的音乐及现场横扫大江南北，征服新一代乐迷挑剔的耳朵。
成立于1992年的战斧乐队，早年代表作《天葬》(又名《往世》)一经发表，便震惊乐坛，更被收录于堪称中国摇滚风向标的系列合辑《摇滚北京II》中，1995年再被黄秋生导演处女作、香港恐怖悬疑片《新房客》用作主题曲，影响力由香港直接辐射亚洲。
2001年，战斧首张专辑《死城》问世，凭借兼容并蓄的开放心胸与死硬坚韧的现实态度赢得了乐迷的尊重。音乐上，他们在死亡金属的骨骼上又滋生出新金属、工业金属、硬核的融合血液，追求多元化曲风，拒绝沦为模式化的附庸；表达上，他们更关注社会现实矛盾，情感表达直接有力。这是当年国内销量最高的摇滚专辑，也为中国重型音乐史留下不可替代的一笔。
之后，战斧乐队经历了休整与自省，也经历了摇滚乐与时代变革同步中的种种吊诡与新鲜。但深厚的音乐积淀和创新的音乐理念，支撑他们完成了又一次的“淬炼”。2015年初签约摩登天空之后，战斧锋芒尽显，驰骋于全国各大音乐节舞台之余，更作为最具耐力的音乐“顽家”，出现在世界汽车耐力锦标赛（WEC）上海站的赛道上，以重型音乐与赛车共同演绎“速度与激情”。
如今，在EP《隔离》发行三年之后，战斧乐队的第三张唱片，也是时隔15年之后的第二张全长专辑《深海》已经整装待发。如果说“战斧”这个名字从冷兵器那里汲取了尖锐、锋利和沉重，那么《深海》将要诠释的，则是在黑暗、未知的环境中进化、前行的信念和勇气。它将以时代的变迁为主要线索，在一片狂欢与娱乐中追求独立思考，从生存状态、社会现实到个人情感、精神诉求，以沉潜之心一一梳理。
开放的态度也将体现在《深海》的音乐中，在对硬核、新金属的吸纳融合之外，更多的新派金属元素被引入，而旋律性也一路延续与强化。更值得期待的是，二十多年前的《往世》，也被重新编曲打磨，收入专辑——这首当年加持过黄秋生的经典之作，将放射出崭新的斧刃弧光。
9月9日起，战斧将携《深海》踏上久违的巡演之旅，历时四个月，二十站演出遍布全国，这也是战斧乐队成立以来最大规模的全国巡演。一支元老乐队，四个金属铁汉，二十余年传奇经历，而更多的，是岁月淬炼出的高超技术、凶猛能量与爆裂的现场氛围。战斧正从深海而来，等你一起劈波斩浪，在现场将一切虚饰化为齑粉。
