Surfer Blood 原吉他手Thomas Fekete于5.30因罕见癌症逝世，乐队在推特主页为他写下这段话。

Surfer Blood是一支来自美国佛罗里达州西棕榈滩的独立摇滚乐队，至2016年成军7年以来，发表了3张专辑及一张EP，虽然名字听起来似乎和Surf Rock冲浪运动有关，但是四个人并没有冲过太多浪。这个名字也只是乐队成员闲聊中无意提起的，无心插柳变成了乐队的正名大号。他们的音乐表达出一种活泼，跳跃，略显鸡血的悸动。

高中时期，主唱Pitts和鼓手Schwarz因共同的音乐兴趣一拍即合，随后在迈阿密的Ultra音乐节上，他们又认识了吉他手Fekete和贝斯手Williams，四人决定合作组成一支乐队，然后不停地巡演，就这样组成了乐队。

他们因2010年首张单曲《Swim》大获好评，被评为2009年Pitchfork's 100 Best Songs第37名；同年发表了首张专辑《Astro Coast》，让这支年轻的独立乐队迅速窜红。并与8月受邀参加了亚洲阵容最豪华的东京Summer Sonic音乐节，2013年发行第二张全长专辑《Pythons》更Surfer Blood 的音乐更上一层楼；《Demon Dance》开头的吉他伴奏以及中间穿插的乐队齐声呐喊别出心裁；《Gravity》低潮部分出色的吉他伴奏更是让人眼前一亮，将Surfer Blood成功推上了新星的宝座。

而成军7年之后，他们也将带着第三张全长专辑《1000 Palms》正式展开属于他们的首次中国巡演，2016年7月，在这个炎热的夏天，感受来自全美最长海岸线的佛罗里达州Surfer Blood的独立音乐之旅，带你冲入到洒满阳光的棕榈海滩尽情嬉戏。

Their guitarist Thomas Fekete passed away on May 30,2016,other members of the band wrote these words for him.

Surfer Blood is an American indie rock band from West Palm Beach, Florida, United States, formerly signed to Warner Bros. Records.

Founding members John Paul Pitts and Tyler Schwarz started playing music together in Orlando, Florida.They met Thomas Fekete at an Ultra Music Festival after party in Miami and the group was formed with the immediate goal of releasing a record and touring nonstop.

The band was originally called Jabroni Sandwich. Schwarz randomly came up with the name Surfer Blood during a conversation with Pitts about his surfer backpack from high school.
