上世纪九十年代末期出道的摇滚唱作人杭天，曾出版有专辑《我的心是油炸的蚕豆（My Heart of Blues）》（1999）、《冷水浇头（Cold Water on My Head）》（2002）。作品融合了根源摇滚、Blues、民谣和乡村音乐，演唱则巧妙利用了汉语四声的抑扬顿挫和一些局限，创造了一种全新的中文曲风。
其词作犀利、调侃、嘲讽、悲悯，有极强的超前意识，在华语乐坛有着不可替代的独特地位。2002年杭天远赴重洋，从乐迷的视线中消失，多年来致力于考古与书法艺术，并出版了颇有影响的学术专著和书法集，俨然跨界达人。2016年春，阔别乐坛13年的杭天签约摩登天空，“中文布鲁斯第一人”重出江湖。

Hang Tian, rock star and song writer, has taken up music since the late 1990s. His album includes My Heart of Blues(1990) and Cold Water on My Head(2002). He uses intonation of Chinese characters skillfully and mixes root rock, blues, folk and country music with his work, creating a brand new Chinese music style.
One may find his song-writing is harsh, ironic, while sympathetic and far-sighted. Though Hang Tian was indispensable in Chinese music circle, he went abroad and vanished from his fans’ world, and buried himself into archaeology and calligraphy. With his effort, he published some quite good books. After his leaving for 13 years of music, in the spring of 2016, Modern Sky signed him. “The Man of Chinese Blues”has again appeared.
