两年前的《岁月鸿沟》，惘闻用宏大的氛围之声，描绘出在他们眼中，在这个时代我们都将必然卷入的巨大黑洞。出人意料的是，两年后他们并没有延续前作，执迷于绵长悲壮的叙事和弥漫的宽广氛围，而是突然转过身，把注意力从时代景观移回到了他们的生活场景中，带来了一张由八首相对精短的作品构成的新专辑《看不见的城市》。
作为一只存在近20年的乐队，每张唱片的变化或者演化并不稀奇，而且这也一直在惘闻的身上发生，但这一次，我们听到的，绝对是惘闻迄今为止最动听、最温暖的一张唱片，他们一头扎进了旋律的怀抱，将他们对自己所生活的城市最直接的情感表露无疑。远赴冰岛录音，也让这张新唱片的声音变得更加纯净悠远。在《看不见的城市》里，我们感到一阵阵的关切，也听到了惘闻下意识的，在变成这个城市一丝有温度的能量。
关于专辑创作和录音的自述－－
“2016年初，当惘闻完成了《岁月鸿沟》最后一天的录制，我们在大雪封门的录音室里回放录音文件时，我想，下次一定要做一张暖色调的唱片。至于怎样进入暖色，我们还完全不知道。
或许因为大连的春天总是来的很迟，那之后做出来的东西，我们都没感觉到温度变化。第一轮的巡演回来，才到了大连最舒适的季节。看来，我们就是始终被周围环境影响的一帮人。
后续的创作逐渐进入轨道，在排练室录完了一个粗糙的DEMO后，我们就开始寻思着去哪里录制这张唱片。和惘闻每张专辑之后都会换一个新的排练室不太一样（因为每次都是在不得已的情况下），每张新唱片，我们都希望在一个新的录音环境下进行，觉得这样或许会带给我们一些不同的情绪和感受，另外，在一个新的录音室里，我们每个人总能学到一些新的技能。
一年前，我们的调音师小龙和经纪人孙怡去冰岛旅行，拜访了那个由游泳池改建的很出名的录音棚Sundlaugin，之后乐队就收到了他们发来的录音棚环境和设备的照片资料。那时我们刚订完了欧洲巡演，所以决定干脆在巡演之前，去冰岛录制这张新唱片。
新唱片的制作人，是我们上一张专辑合作过的Wouter和Lode兄弟。通过《岁月鸿沟》在一起十多天的工作，现在我们对彼此的工作方式有了更多的理解，但更重要的是，我们非常信任对方。在抵达冰岛之前， 我们在邮件中聊了很多录制这张唱片的想法，希望每个人能把对冰岛以及这个录音棚的主观感受都带入到录音和棚里的再创作之中。
得益于大家充分的准备和计划，整个录音非常顺利。我们在录音棚里把那些在市面上很难找到的老乐器和设备，挨个试了一个遍。大家玩的兴奋的同时，也学到了很多东西，所以即使每天都要工作12个小时以上，也不觉得疲惫。这样的气氛下，就算经过了冰岛的冬日极夜，最终的录音也如我们最初所愿，是一张温暖的作品集。”
关于唱片的名字－－
“过去两年，我认识的不少年轻人，都离开了大连这座城市，去更有活力的地方生活和工作。而依然伫立的这座城市越来越沉默，也越来越模糊。有一天我突然想起了卡尔维诺的那本，我始终没有读完的书，翻开它的前几章，我看到了自己曾经用铅笔画下的字句， ‘每个城市都从她面对的荒漠获得自己的形状；于是赶骆驼的人和水手所看到的，就是这样处在沙的荒漠与水的荒漠之间的苔斯皮纳。’于是就有了这张唱片的名字: 《看不见的城市》。然而这本书我依然没有读完。”

关于巡演
惘闻近年来一直保持着一个非常稳定的创作、巡演节奏：两年出一张专辑，随后展开中国巡演以及海外的拓展，这已经成为了我们互相配合的一种默契。作为惘闻的经纪厂牌也好，伙伴也好，乐迷也好，我们感慨于他们勤奋的姿态、旺盛的创造力、积极务实的音乐态度、深邃而凝练的音乐抱负，每经过一个两年，对于惘闻的新专辑巡演似乎成为了我们的一个共同节日一般，充满期待。
录音室的专辑，是需要精雕细琢，值得推敲的；而音乐现场，如何把这份精致用更具感染力的保留下来，惘闻和我们都期待现场会是一个与录音室专辑截然不同的存在，在现场，我们都值得感受到更多：情绪、张力、氛围营造……
每一张唱片的巡演，我们都期待在有限的时间内，走到更多的城市，分享給更多人。《看不见的城市》这张专辑的巡演，除了声音、灯光上的团队保障之外，更会在部分场次尝试完全不同的氛围视觉呈现，我们希望惘闻的现场每一次都会带给大家一种全新的体验。

Two years ago, in Wang Wen’s Sweet Home, Go!, they used the sound with grand atmosphere to reveal a vortex which we will inevitably be involved in in this era. Surprisingly, in their new album invisible city, they move their attention from the landscape to their life scenes.
As a band that has existed for nearly 20 years, the change or evolution of each album is usual, which has always happened to Wang Wen, but this time, what we heard is definitely the best and the warmest album of them so far. With the warmth of melody, Wang Wen have shown their most direct emotions to the city they live in.
About album creating and recording --
At the beginning of 2016, after finishing Sweet Home, Go!, we played back the recording file in the studio of which door was snow-covered, I thought that I must make a warm-colored album next time. As for how. We still don't know at all.
Perhaps because the spring of Dalian always came very late, we didn't feel the temperature change until we finished first round of the tour came back to Dalian in its most comfortable season. It seems that we are a group of people who are always affected by the surrounding environment.
After recording a rough DEMO in the rehearsal room, we began to wonder where to record the record. For every new album, we want to do it in a new recording environment, feel like It will bring us some different emotions and feelings. In addition, in a new studio, each of us can always learn some new skills.
A year ago, our tuner Xiaolong and agent Sun Yi went to Iceland to visit the famous studio Sundlaugin, which was converted from a swimming pool. The band then received photos of their studio environment and equipment. . At that time we had just booked the Euro tour, so we decided to go to Iceland to record this new album before the tour.
The producer of the new album is the Wouter and Lode brothers who we worked with on our last album. Through the work of Sweet Home, Go! for more than ten days, We had a better understanding of each other's working methods, more importantly, we trust each other very much. Before arriving in Iceland, we talked a lot about the idea of recording this record in e-mail, hoping that everyone can bring the subjective feelings of Iceland and this studio into the album while re-creating.
Thanks to everyone's full preparation and planning, the entire recording went very smooth. We tried the old instruments and equipment that were hard to find on the market in the studio. Everyone was also excited to learn a lot of things, so even if we worked more than 12 hours a day, we didn't feel tired. In this atmosphere, even in the winter night in Iceland, the final recording is a warm collection as we originally intended.
About the tour
On every record tour, we want to reach more cities and share our music to more people in a limited time. In some occasions, we will try to present a completely different atmosphere. We hope to bring you a brand new experience.

About Wang Wen
China’s most prominent instrumental band Wang Wen begins 20 years ago in the coastal city Dalian. By now they have released 9 studio albums, 1 OST album and 1 split vinyl with the Swedish band Pg.Lost. Wang Wen is indeed an incredibly creative band and productive at the same time.
The band is well respected in China for their immersive and deeply moving music. They are also very active on the international stages, having toured in Europe four times and recorded their tenth album in Iceland. The new album will be released globally this year in 2018, and its going to be their most poetical work.
