出生于1961年的吉田达也无疑是日本先锋音乐史上最为重要的鼓手和作曲家之一。他的职业生涯始于上世纪80年代早期，废墟（Ruins）是吉田达也于1985年成立的受硬核朋克、Zeuhl①风格影响的乐队。除了废墟，吉田达也同时也是其他许多乐队的领衔人物，如高円寺百景（Koenjihyakkei）、是巨人（Korekyojinn）、The World Heritage、Zubi Zuva、赤天（Akaten）等。

Born in 1961, Tatsuya Yoshida is undoubtedly one of the most important and influential drummer/composers to come out of the Japanese avant-rock scene. Yoshida began playing professionally in the early 80s, and in 1985 he formed his hardcore punk/Zeuhl influenced band, Ruins. Along with Ruins, he is the leader of several other groups (Koenjihyakkei, Korekyojinn, The World Heritage, Zubi Zuva, Akaten, etc).
He has performed with many of the most prominent figures from the avant/RIO scene, including Fred Frith, John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Bill Laswell, Hoppy Kamiyama, Keiji Haino, Yoshihide Otomo, Imahori Tsuneo, Tenko, Mani Neumeier, Uchihashi Kazuhisa and countless others.
Along with his groups and collaborations, he has also performed as a drummer in many groups, such as Acid Mothers Temple SWR, YBO2, Samla Mammas Manna, Musica Transonic, Gong, and Acid Mothers Gong. Since reforming Ruins Alone as a solo project, replete with manically express bass-lines triggered by a sampler (a suitable partner), and his own adrenaline-fuelled voice, Yoshida's project has become a flickering apparition of piled-up beats and stratified riffs that unfold at a staggeringly blistering speed. For his live audience, it's a breathtaking prospect.
