浪荡者，无羁散人是也；绅士者，谦恭君子是也。
聚三五朋友，撷一段音符，管弦也好，丝竹也罢，就在这皇城根儿下，四九城中，吞吐着酒气尾气窝囊气，戏谑着昨日今日复明日。于是，四个成熟的男人将蓝调的自在调侃着豆汁儿的酸爽一饮而尽，微醺着笑面城市灰色的黯然。这便是浪荡绅士（Hoochie Coochie Gentlemam），这便是他们的音乐。
浪荡绅士在音乐方式上是以蓝调音乐为基础，混入其他各种音乐元素。音乐内容上是讲述身边故事，惟有小情小调；并无忧国忧民。音乐特征是一不喝酒混圈；二不嗑药呼麻；三不撕逼骂娘；有事说事。而将Blues与民乐的结合是乐队成员都接受的结果。缘由是乐队全是中国人，自然会将本人从小耳濡目染的音乐和成长过程中对本人影响最大的音乐结合在一同。浪荡绅士的音乐多是讲述市井悲欢。对于浪荡绅士的音乐在当前的改变，乐队表示：“我是一个特别分裂的人，兴之所至写什么都有可能。类似于如今作品里有“鹧鸪天”“魂斗罗”“金岳霖与林徽因”“黑白”这些反差很大的东西存在，当前如何改变次要取决于那些天吃了什么东西。
为什么叫“浪荡绅士”？
主唱大非曾经在接受采访时表示：“浪荡是一种状态，一种自由的状态，有想法就去做。再加上我们也挺绅士，就取这么个名儿。”在组建乐队之前，４位成员都做了十来年的音乐。“其实，我们做音乐是随性的，自由的，浪荡的，时机到了，才组乐队。”
为什么是“布鲁斯”？
大非说，“布鲁斯音乐是现代流行音乐的基础，随着时间的变迁，听的人就少了。我们是听了很多年，觉得这种音乐风格有它独特的魅力。”
无论是《总得开始》、《市井》，还是《天蓝色》，浪荡绅士的作品总是与生活息息相关。“我们的第２张专辑之所以叫《市井》，写的就是市井百姓的生活，写给那些随处可见的人，描绘他们的生活与心境，只有这些生活才是最真实的。”

The Hoochie Coochie Gentleman embrace many styles, from blues to bossa nova and even classic rock, but are defined by none. They are a band of music lovers living in Beijing, telling the city's story in their own way. They've been together for four years and have released four albums in that time. Their second album <Shijin>was nominated for the 2011 Chinese Music Awards Best Blues & Jazz Artist award. In 2012, their double release <Skyey> and <Yu Er Tong Xiao Wan Gu Chou> was listed in the Chinese Music Award's top 10 for the season and was nominated for the Chinese Music Media Awards best Blues & Jazz album.
