成立于 2007 年,乐队最初为 Artem Galkin(吉他)、Pavel Eremeev(中音吉他) 和 Sergey Ledowski(鼓)三人编制。
uSSSy began in 2007 as a trio with Artem Galkin (guitar), Pavel Eremeev (baritone guitar), and Sergey Ledowski (drums). After the release of their self-titled debut album, Sergey left the band. Pavel Bogachev then joined as the second drummer, with whom they recorded their second album, Oko. However, he also left the band, and uSSSy continued as a duo, with Pavel switching to drums and Artem playing a modified baritone guitar.
During this period, uSSSy began incorporating Eastern influences into their melodies. From 2011 to 2013, the band released four LPs and two live albums. In 2013, Artem left the band, and Sergey Bolotin joined as the new drummer, while Pavel returned to baritone guitar.
In 2020, Artem Galkin rejoined uSSSy, forming a second lineup with Pavel on drums. They started performing separately from the main lineup. In 2021, Andrei Kim replaced Sergey on drums, and Felix Milensky joined as a bassist, shaping a new phase of the band.
Since 2022, uSSSy has been performing as a trio, with Artem and Pavel on guitars and Andrei on drums, continuing their experimental journey.
Artem Galkin
Artem Galkin is a Russia / South East Asia-based musician, guitarist, Kurdish tanbour player, and instrument maker. His musical journey began in the early 2000s with the alternative rock band Punga and the noise rock/punk band Foojitsu. He was also a founder of KruzR Ken, an experimental collective exploring improvisation, noise, drone, and electronic music.
In 2005, he joined the experimental rock band I Am Above On The Left, where he met Pavel Eremeev. Two years later, in 2007, they formed uSSSy alongside Sergey Ledovski (drums), creating a unique fusion of noise rock, techno, and blues. Over the next few years, the band’s sound evolved towards microtonal music, initially influenced by North African Sufi traditions, and later drawing deeper inspiration from Iranian, Afghani, and Indian musical cultures.
In 2012, Artem began playing the Kurdish tanbour, immersing himself in its tradition. His exploration of the instrument led him not only to master its playing techniques but also to the craft of tanbour-making, developing a deep connection to its cultural and historical roots.
Pavel Eremeev
Pavel Eremeev is a Russia / Serbia-based experimental musician, guitarist, and drummer, known for his work in uSSSy, HolyPalms, Spasibo, Jesss, I Am Above on the Left, Foojitsu, and KruzR Ken.
He began his musical career in Moscow’s underground scene, where he first met Artem Galkin while playing in the math-rock/post-hardcore band I Am Above on the Left. The two later collaborated in Foojitsu, an experimental noise-rock band, before co-founding uSSSy in 2007. Initially a baritone guitarist, Pavel later switched to drums, shaping the band’s evolving sound, which blends noise rock, microtonal influences, and Eastern musical traditions.
Beyond uSSSy, Pavel is also a founding member of HolyPalms and an active participant in the avant-garde improvisational group KruzR Ken. He has also played in Spasibo and Jesss, expanding his musical explorations into different experimental directions.
His playing style is deeply rooted in non-traditional tunings, heavy rhythmic structures, and improvisation, making him one of the most distinctive musicians in Russia’s and Serbia’s experimental scenes.
Andrey Kim
Moscow-based musician Andrey Kim has been deeply immersed in music since the early 2000s. His journey began with Samul-nori, a traditional Korean percussion genre, before transitioning into avant-child-rock in 2005 with the band Ч.О.Т. As his musical career evolved, he collaborated with numerous experimental and underground projects, eventually establishing himself as a drummer.
Over the years, Andrey has played with a diverse range of bands, including Oblomok Unitaza, ex-Post-Materialists, Spray-Sisters/Tishihate, ex-Kostarev Group (where he explored progressive rock), ex-Brom, Грибы-Каннибалы, Iskromet, Akmelika, Zlurad, Drumazhur, Sky, Цссс, uSSSy, and many more. His passion for music knows no bounds, as reflected in his extensive involvement in various genres and styles.
Beyond drumming, Andrey is also a sound engineer and electronic music composer. His electronic projects include 8 Hz and previously Admi*. Constantly experimenting and pushing musical boundaries, he continues to shape his sound and contribute to the avant-garde and experimental music scenes.
