Maruja 的故事始于八年前——起初只是主唱 Harry Wilkinson 与贝斯手 Matt Buonaccorsi 对 Red Hot Chili Peppers 式放克摇滚的模仿，直到某天在西班牙街头偶然瞥见一块摇摇欲坠的“Maruja”商店招牌，这个名字便成了他们对抗平庸的宣言。之后，Joe Carroll 带着萨克斯加入，像一把手术刀一样划开既定框架，将爵士的即兴灵魂注入朋克的暴烈躯体，再加上鼓手 Jacob Hayes 的爆裂节奏，Maruja 的音乐自此成了失控一般的梦境。

有人说 Maruja 的现场像一场驱魔仪式——在汗水与尖叫中，乐队与观众共同解剖焦虑。巡演路上那些颤抖的拥抱永远是珍贵的，有人因为‘’的音乐敢于直面阴影，这让他们坚信所谓的“艺术家”应是乱世中的真相吟游者。而但凡亲历过 Maruja 超凡现场的乐迷，都能感受到 Maruja 强大的力量。他们是对抗谎言的反叛者，是爵士先驱与朋克血脉的混合体，他们足以代表在黑暗中攥紧希望的普通人。

Maruja are an English rock band formed in Manchester in 2014, currently signed to Music for Nations. Their most recent line-up consists of Harry Wilkinson (lead vocals, guitar), Joe Carroll (saxophone, vocals), Matt Buonaccorsi (bass) and Jacob Hayes (drums). The band gained attention through their EPs Knocknarea (2023) and Connla's Well (2024), combining elements of post-rock, jazz-rock and noise rock.

They’re the UK’s most charismatic band, their live shows a spiritual experience uniting the crowd in free-flow jams of uncategorisable music.

Think post-punk meets free jazz, with lyrics, rooted in rap, that are all about the message. Add the hair-raising sonics of ruthless breakbeats, gnarly guitar loops, transcendent sax and flourishes of psychedelic bass and you have Maruja: this is force-of-nature music, born from a place of spirituality and protest, with a deep four-way friendship at its core.
