去年来自爱尔兰 Galway 的年轻乐队 NewDad 首次来到中国，为上海、深圳、北京的夜晚带来了绵延的回响与真诚动人的现场能量，在迷幻而锋利的音墙中，将“Shoegaze”的当代魅力种进了乐迷心里。

彼时他们带着首张专辑<Madra>，稚气未脱，却已然锋芒毕露。时隔一年，他们带着全新 EP <Safe> 归来，依然青春，却更加笃定。他们的梦境不再只是回忆与逃避，而是延展、对抗、成长与再出发。

NewDad 由相识于高中时代的 Julie Dawson (主唱/吉他)、Sean O’Dowd (吉他)、Fiachra Parslow (鼓手)组成。生于千禧年前后的他们以一种属于 Z 世代的方式去打磨经典的 shoegaze 美学——更锋利的鼓机节奏、更朴素直接的歌词语言，还有一种略带羞涩却极具穿透力的情绪表达方式。

正是这种“复古而新颖”的矛盾感，使他们在短短几年内从独立新兵一跃成为 BBC Radio 1 和各大音乐节等舞台的常客。2023 年的<Madra>更是让他们真正成为在国际乐迷心中升起的冉冉新星。

去年日本专场结束后不久 NewDad 就收到了 Fuji Rock 音乐节的邀请，再加上他们迫不及待的想再回到给他们留下无数美好瞬间的中国，于是本次 2025 中国巡演就顺理成章地发生了——希望所有喜欢 NewDad 的朋友们都能看到现场！

NewDad is an Irish indie rock band from Galway, formed in 2018. Their music has been compared to The Cure, Beabadoobee, and Just Mustard by NME magazine. Atwood Magazine wrote of the group: "The band oozes personality with cynical but honest lyrics, colorful visual components, and poignant messages about coping with the, albeit painful, formative experiences." The group have appeared at the Green Man Festival in Wales, the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris, and on the Irish television program Other Voices.

NewDad is composed of Julie Dawson (vocals/guitar), Sean O’Dowd (guitar), and Fiachra Parslow (drums), who first met in high school. Born around the turn of the millennium, they refine classic shoegaze aesthetics in a distinctly Gen Z way—sharper drum machine rhythms, more straightforward lyrical language, and an emotional delivery that’s both shy and piercing.

It’s this "retro yet fresh" duality that has propelled them from indie newcomers to regulars on BBC Radio 1 and major festival stages in just a few years. Their 2023 album Madra solidified their status as a rising star in the hearts of international fans.

Shortly after their Japan tour last year, NewDad received an invitation to Fuji Rock Festival—and with their eagerness to return to China, where they’ve shared countless unforgettable moments, their 2025 China tour became a natural next step. See you at the scene!
