Epica is a symphonic metal band from the Netherlands, founded in 2002 by former After Forever guitarist Mark Jansen. The band is known for its captivating vocal contrast between beautiful female clean vocals and aggressive male growls, creating a striking "beauty and the beast" operatic effect reminiscent of angels and demons.
