来自瑞士的 WHO 三重奏由 Michel Wintsch、Gerry Hemingway（来自美国纽约，现定居瑞士）和 Bänz Oester 组成，成立于 1998 年。这支爵士三重奏虽然有着最常规的乐器配置，却能毫不含糊地随时玩出 Massive Attack 式的摇滚冲击、Fela 式的火热激情、Count Basie 式的摇摆韵味，或是 Buddy Guy 式的粗犷律动。BBC 音乐频道评论：“完全引人入胜、出乎意料地充满活力、结构精巧的乐曲，演绎出非凡的细腻与精致，同时保持着严谨控制的力量。”

Michel Wintsch，钢琴家、作曲家。他的创作既链接了爵士传统与“前卫”摇滚的粗砺能量，又在自由的即兴与严谨的管弦乐作曲之间保持平衡，从而形成了一种既兼容并蓄又不失诗意的独特语汇。他发行过众多唱片，合作过的音乐家包括 Fred Frith、Han Bennink 和 Michel Doneda 等。
Gerry Hemingway，鼓手、作曲家，自 1974 年起便以独奏艺术家身份演出。80 年代中期以来，他创立并领导了多个国际知名的四重奏与五重奏，并参加众多音乐团体和项目，其中最广为人知的是在 Anthony Braxton 四重奏（1983–1994）中任职长达 11 年。此外，他还与世界上一些最杰出的即兴演奏家和作曲家有过合作，包括 Evan Parker、Cecil Taylor、Derek Bailey、Leo Smith、Frank Gratkowski 和 Simon Nabatov 等。

The trio of Michel Wintsch, Gerry Hemingway (from NYC now living in Switzerland) and Bänz Oester began touring and recording together in 1998. It is not unusual to hear this otherwise conventional jazz trio rock out like Massive Attack, cook like Fela, swing like Count Basie, or bump and grind like Buddy Guy. BBC Music describes their compositions as “wholly absorbing, rousingly unpredictable, cleverly structured pieces that elicit performances of extraordinary subtlety and delicacy yet scrupulously controlled power.”

Pianist and composer Michel Wintsch links jazz tradition with the raw power of “progressive” rock, freewheeling improvisation with the rigors of orchestral composition, taking an approach that is both syncretic and poetic. He has published many records and played with many musicians (Fred Frith, Han Bennink, Michel Doneda etc).
Drummer and composer Gerry Hemingway has performed as a solo artist since 1974. He also has led a number of quartets and quintets since the mid 80s as well as being a member of a wide array of collaborative groups. He is well known for his 11 years in the Anthony Braxton Quartet (1983–1994) along with his collaborations with some of the world’s most outstanding improvisers and composers including Evan Parker, Cecil Taylor, Derek Bailey, Leo Smith, Frank Gratkowski, Simon Nabatov and many others.
Bassist Christian Weber became sought after for beefy bass layers, poisoned counterpoints, and knowing where to pack a punch. He has collaborated with the likes of John Butcher, Peter Evans, Pierre Favre, Barry Guy, Peter Kowald, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Nate Wooley, Aki Takase and Otomo Yoshihide. From 2007 he was a lecturer at the universities of Basel, Berne and Lucern. He holds a professorship at the latter from 2022.
