俄罗斯民谣金属乐团ARKONA 2016年中国巡演
在地球上疆域最为辽阔的国度——俄罗斯，有着这样的民族金属之声，来自莫斯科的女声民谣/异教金属乐团——ARKONA，他们的队名取自1168年被红衣主教阿布萨隆和丹麦大帝瓦尔德马率十字军摧毁的最后一座斯拉夫异教城堡。
ARKONA乐队于2002年底发行了《Rus'》demo之后便开始与PAGAN REIGN、ROSSOMAHAAR等俄罗斯民谣金属乐队同台演出。他们的处子专辑《Vozrozhdeniye》发行于2004年，流畅的旋律，多层次的人声演唱以及细致的编排展现了独特的异族风情（这张专辑于2005年以英文版再度发行），同年年底第二张专辑《Lepta》也完成录制并顺利推出。
ARKONA乐队女主唱Maria无论在演出现场还是宣传照中，都身披狼皮，手持利刃，一副古代斯拉夫女战士的扮相。虽说是女主唱，但你千万不要以为这和NIGHTWISH、EPICA有什么相同之处，全俄文的歌词与粗鲁的唱腔，即使是比起大敌的Angela Gossow来也毫不逊色。Maria的演唱清嗓死嗓转换自如，他们的音乐注重宏大氛围的渲染，除了传统重金属与极端金属元素之外，添加了许多诸如风笛，羊皮鼓之类的各种传统民族乐器配合民族调式的编配全面展现了ARKONA的音乐创作特色。2008年乐队签约奥地利著名厂牌Napalm Records，2012年联合匈牙利著名民谣金属乐队DALRIADA进行了欧洲大陆巡演。2014年4月，ARKONA在Napalm Records旗下发行第七张录音室专辑《Yav》, 来自TURISAS的小提琴演奏者Olli vanska为专辑贡献了出色的声音，这也使得ARKONA的音乐愈发成熟。就在2014年，他们曾经和瑞典交响金属乐队圣兽THERION一起，分别造访北京与长江迷笛音乐节，大受好评。作为当代最好的异教民谣金属乐队之一，继承了斯拉夫神话与俄罗斯民谣风情的ARKONA精准地诠释了其独特的民族气质，超过十年的职业生涯更是充满了激昂的音乐精神。2016年1月ARKONA乐队将开启首次中国巡演，并于最后两场与芬兰民谣金属巨擎FINNTROLL和中国大陆的梦灵乐队联合演出京沪两站，期待三支各具特色的乐队碰撞出悦耳不同的民族之声！

The beginnings of ARKONA date back to 2002, when members of local pagan community “Vyatichi”, Masha “Scream” Arhipova and Alexander “Warlock” Korolyov, decided to form a band that mirrored their individual philosophy and musical tastes. The band, at the time still known as Hyperborea, comprised Masha “Scream” Arhipova (vocals), Eugene Knyazev (guitar), Eugene Borzov (bass), Ilya Bogatyryov (guitar), Alexander “Warlock” Korolyov (drums), and Olga Loginova (keyboard), but it wasn’t until February 2002 that ARKONA surfaced from the depths of Russia’s underground scene.
ARKONA soon decided to record several of their pagan/folk songs for their first demo. The recording took place at CDM-Records Studio in December 2002. The demo included 3 tracks – “Kolyada”, “Solntsevorot” (Solstice)” & “Rus’” (Russia). These tracks were later included as a bonus on the live album “Zhizn’ vo slavu” (Live for the Great) released in 2006.
ARKONA began performing live in early 2003. Many concert-goers experienced the band for the first time at the Yazycheskaya Rus” Festival. By the summer of 2003, ARKONA was ready to record their debut, but disinterest in the band by some of its members saw the band disappear from the scene as quickly as it had arrived. Yet Masha’s perseverance would not subside. Continuing on her own, and with the help of the members of Nargathrond, she proceeded to compose new material. Her fellow musicians readied their instruments, read through the partitions, and without ever looking back, recorded their debut album “Vozrozhdenie” (Revival) in March 2004. As a result, “Vozrozhdenie” (Revival) quickly became one of the most successful Slavic pagan metal albums of all time.
In 2012, ARKONA held Europe Tour with famous Hungarian Folk Metal band DALRIADA. In 2014, they recorded their 7th studio album “Yay”, in which audiences can find out the excellent sound of the violinist from TURISAS, making this album is more mature. In the same year, accompanied with Swedish Symphonic Metal band THERION, ARKONA came to Midi Festival in Beijing and Shanghai and won critical acclaim. As one of the best Pagan Folk Metal band in this generation, ARKONA inherit temperament of Slavic Myth and Russian folk custom.
In January 2016 ARKONA begins their first China tour!
