老丹，实验/即兴音乐人，多乐器演奏者，以竹笛与萨克斯管为主要乐器。他的音乐融合了摇滚乐、实验音乐、噪音与中国传统民族音乐，作品富于即兴灵感与美学张力，常在东方和西方、古代与现代的激烈对撞之间为观众带来强压迫感的听觉体验。
在过去十年中，老丹活跃于国内与国际音乐场景中，曾赴美国、日本进行个人巡演，并与海内外诸多音乐家展开合作，受到听众与业界的极大肯定。在个人计划之外，他也曾参与红领巾、突突二重奏、突突不死、哔哔哔 哔哔哔、丽江五重奏等音乐组合，在多个国家共发表二十余张独奏与合作专辑。
2020 年，英国先锋音乐杂志 The Wire 对老丹进行了专访报道；2024 年，老丹受邀作为驻地艺术家在哥本哈根爵士节登台演出；同年，他在美国举行了 13 场巡回演出。
Lao Dan is an experimental/improvisational musician and multi-instrumentalist, primarily playing dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) and saxophone. His music blends rock, experimental, noise, and traditional Chinese folk music, characterized by improvisational inspiration and aesthetic tension. Through intense contrasts between East and West as well as ancient and modern styles, it offers audiences a powerful auditory experience.
Over the past decade, Lao Dan has been active in both China and international music scenes, touring in the U.S. and Japan and collaborating with numerous musicians worldwide, earning significant acclaim from audiences and professionals. Beyond his solo projects, he has participated in groups such as the Red Scarf, TuTu Duo, TuTu Noise, bBb & bBb, and Lijiang Quintet, and has released over 20 solo and collaborative albums internationally.
In 2020, the UK avant-garde music magazine The Wire featured him in an exclusive interview. In 2024, he was invited as an artist-in-residence to perform at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The same year, he completed a 13-performance tour across the U.S.

Michael Zerang 出生于芝加哥，是第一代美国本土出生的亚述人后裔。自 1976 年起，他成为一名专业的音乐家、作曲家和制作人，深耕于即兴音乐、自由爵士、当代作曲、木偶剧、实验戏剧以及世界各民族音乐等多个领域。

Michael Zerang was born in Chicago, and is a first-generation American of Assyrian descent. He has been a professional musician, composer, and producer since 1976, focusing extensively on improvised music, free jazz, contemporary composition, puppet theater, experimental theater, and international musical forms.
As a percussionist, composer and collaborator, Zerang has over one hundred titles in his discography and has toured nationally and internationally to 35 countries since 1981, and worked with an ever-widening pool of collaborators, primarily in The United States, Western and Eastern Europe.
Beginning in 2004, Zerang began to work with musicians and artists living in the Middle East. He traveled to perform, hold workshops, and study, to Yemen, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Morocco.
In November, 2007, Zerang played his first concert in Poland. Between 2007–2015, he had performed over 100 concerts. Several of these concerts were from existing ensembles that visited Poland, but the majority of the concerts were in collaboration with Polish musicians and artists.
Zerang founded and was the artistic director of the Links Hall Performance Series in Chicago from 1985-1989 where he produced over 300 concerts of jazz, traditional ethnic folk music, electronic music, and other forms of forward thinking music. He was a Board Member of Links Hall from 1989–2013. He continued to produce concerts at Cafe Urbus Orbis from 1994–1996, and at his own space, The Candlestick Maker in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, from 2001–2005.
Zerang has collaborated extensively with contemporary theater, dance, and other multidisciplinary forms and has received three Joseph Jefferson Awards for Original Music Composition in Theater, in collaboration with Redmoon Theater, in 1996, 1998, and 2000.
Zerang has taught as a guest artist at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in performance technique, sound design, and sound/music as it relates to puppetry; rhythmic analysis for dancers at The Dance Center of Columbia College, Northwestern University, and MoMing Dance and Arts Center; courses in Composer/Choreographer Collaborations at Northwestern University; music to children at the Jane Addams Hull House.
Zerang currently tours and holds workshops in improvisational music and percussion technique, and teaches private lessons in rhythmic analysis, music composition, and percussion technique.
