For fifty years, Joëlle Léandre has stood at the forefront of free improvisation, alongside musicians such as Derek Bailey, Peter Kowald, and Irène Schweizer, helping to shape the landscape of European free music. In this talk, she will look back on that long journey, talk about how free music and free jazz grew in Europe, and share with us her first-hand observations, experiences, and feelings.
