史上第一次,两位Krautrock界元老——Harald Grosskopf(Synthesist / Ashra / Klaus Schulze)和Eberhard Kranemann(Neu!

Harald Grosskopf

Eberhard Kranemann

KRAUTWERK – German efficiency, original, sensational and mind-melting man-machine transcending art, the philosophy of unbounded sonic colours and resistance thinking. For the first time ever, Harald Grosskopf (Synthesist, Ashra, Klaus Schulze) and Eberhard Kranemann (Neu!, Fritz Müller, Pissoff) transmit their cosmic sonic visions of today, tomorrow and beyond.

Harald and Eberhard met the first time in 2016 on a festival and started their successful cooperation culminated on their album “KRAUTWERK”, edited by the Bureau B label in Hamburg, Germany. They decided to merge the different sounds of Düsseldorf and Berlin school of electronic music together, resulting in energetic, contemporary new sounds.

Harald Grosskopf

Harald Grosskopf was the first drummer and percussionist in the world of electronic music who accompanied electronically-generated melody and bassline on drums with electronic music pioneer Klaus Schulze. In the late 70s he took to an apartment with his Minimoog and recorded one of the pioneering synth scores to be tagged kosmische, “Synthesist”, a mind bending journey through undulating rhythmic trippy sonic-scapes, way before Underworld’s slippy 90s synth-scrapers.

Grosskopf has lined up in many legendary German electronic krautrock formations. Making his name when playing drums for the German art-rock band Wallenstein in the early 70s. During that same period he met Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Manuel Göttsching’s Ash Ra Tempel, later Ashra. Harald can be heard on some of early Klaus Schulze albums. With Ashra he performed on thirteen albums. His recent solo performances includes Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, Café Oto and Hackstock (SCI-FI London).

Eberhard Kranemann

Eberhard Kranemann is an innovator in audio-visual art. He cofounded the electronic bands Neu! and Pissoff, and assumed the pseudonym Fritz Müller as his own project. He studied music at the Dormund Conservatory and art at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.

Throughout his career, Kranemann pursues the origination of new worlds perceived and expressed through the unfamiliar and preternatural. He challenges the conventional boundaries between art, sound and performance, originating many radical experiments in multimedia works. Kranemann has exhibited and performed extensively across the world, where a unique and novel form of electronic sound, imagery and event are negotiated through abstraction, experimentation, hybridization and performance.

Having previously worked with Joseph Beuys, collaborative practice continues to become an important test-bed for the origination of experimental work that both affects and challenges you.
